چکیده

-This paper proposes a new technique for noise reduction applied to interferometric phase images. It involves a non-linear filtering system that not only eliminates noise in interferometric phase images, but also re-introduces detail information to the phase image. To implement the filtering system, a modified pivoting median filter with adaptive window size dependent on coherence is firstly used to smooth out the noise present in the image to a certain extent. It is then cascaded by a fringe smoother with different directional windows. The detail component of the interferogram is obtained by subtracting the smoothed signal from the original signal. It is then smoothed by a non-linear smoother with a large window and last added back to the smoothed signal to generate the final output. The experimental result on real data shows that the performance of the proposed technique outperforms some other phase filtering techniques, especially when comparing the DEM to the ground truth data. Comparison of Local and Non-Local Methods in Covariance Matrix Estimation by Using Multi-baseline SAR Interferometry and Height Extraction for Principal Components with Maximum Likelihood Approach

By today, the technology of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) has been largely exploited in digital elevation model (DEM) generation and deformation mapping. Conventional InSAR technique exploits two SAR images acquired from slightly different angles, in which the information of elevation and deformation can be captured through processing of the phase difference of the image...

Use of Multiple Filters for Noise Reduction in Insar Phase Images

This paper proposed a new filtering technique to reduce noise in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferometric phase images. A general multiple-filter structure is described which involves the use of multiple filters to eliminate noise from the original signal and reintroduce some of the details that are lost during this process back into the signal. Both simulated and real data is used in the...

A Method of Filtering and Unwrapping SAR Interferometric Phase Based on Nonlinear Phase Model

This paper presents a new efficient algorithm of filtering and unwrapping phase images for interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) based on nonlinear phase model. First, we analyzed the statistical and signal properties of interferometric phase, and proposed the concept of nonlinear phase model. The model of reflecting topographic contour is used to approximate the interferometric phas...

The Effect of Speckle Reduction on Coherence Estimation and Interferometric Phase of Insar

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images always suffer from strongly speckle noise, which is a great obstacle to coherence (or correlation coefficient) estimation and interferometric phase, furthermore hinders the accuracy of phase unwrapping and information extraction with SAR interferometry (InSAR) technique. In this article, we propose to suppress the speckle of SAR images with several self-ada...

Filtering interferometric phase images by anisotropic diffusion

We present an anisotropic diffusion equation designed to restore interferometric images. It has two main purposes. the first is to preserve the structures and discontinuities formed by the fringes. The second is to incorporate the noise modeling which is specific to this kind of images. Besides we show that our model formalizes previous related work in interferometry filtering.
